Saint John history is evident in its weather-worn look, passing the tests of salt air, sea winds, and a devastating fire. As your guide takes you past prominent landmarks and historic buildings, you’ll be introduced to many fascinating personalities and events that occurred to make Saint John the greatest little city in the east! Visit the Reversing Falls Rapids, where the mighty Bay of Fundy causes the Saint John River to reverse direction and flow upstream. Your tour includes two stops to allow for seeing 2 different stages of the tide cycle – with one stop at the newest attraction in Saint John, the Skywalk, for a unique vantage point of this phenomenon, and another at Fallsview Park, which sees you close to the water’s edge.
In addition to the Reversing Falls, you’ll explore Saint John’s other Highlights, including the Carleton Martello Tower National Historic Site, one of sixteen towers constructed in Canada during the early years of the nineteenth century, and one of the few remaining. View the port of Saint John against the beauty of the Bay of Fundy from Fort Howe lookout. Discover four hundred years of history in the heart of Canada’s oldest incorporated city, and experience a delightful blend of past and present. Your tour will end at the City Market, where you can explore, delighting in the vibrant sights and sounds and chatting with the locals.
