Saint John’s historic district is a treasure, with spectacular buildings and details that surprise and delight. From one of the city’s most elegant residential streets to the former heart of the business and financial community, the history behind these stone buildings is fascinating. And today, tucked away in these incredible buildings are galleries bursting with works that embrace the beauty of this historic port city that grew on the shores of the Bay of Fundy. These galleries represent painters, potters, textile artists, jewelers, woodworkers and other craftspeople whose work pushes boundaries, makes us think, and puts creativity first. On this tour, we invite you to stroll through our history, and occasionally step inside to explore the buildings and meet the artists, with one inside visit including a glass of wine or local beer. We’ll take you behind-the-scenes for an insider’s look at Uptown Saint John on this walking tour.
